What we do
Five ways to change a room
One design center, one designer, one clean install — however much of the room you’re ready to change.
Brands we’ve trusted for decades

Since 1952
Three generations in. First-name service.
Esquire Interiors opened its doors in 1952 under Norman Barron, and it has never stopped being a family matter. Norm’s son Ted carried it next; today Ted’s son Josh runs the same business the same way: know the products cold, tell people the truth, and stand behind every installation for life.
Seventy years in, that looks like a 12,000 square foot design center on Jackson Road, a second showroom in Plymouth, our own drapery workroom — and customers whose parents shopped here first.

The Esquire difference
Why families come back for forty years
Big-box stores sell window coverings. We’ve spent seventy years learning why a room works — and staffing the store with people who’ll tell you the truth about yours.
Designers who never work on commission
Advice with nothing behind it but experience. Our designers are paid to get your room right — not to sell you the expensive option.
A workroom of our own
Draperies and valances are sewn in our Ann Arbor workroom by a seamstress with 27+ years at the table. When we say custom, we mean cut, sewn and pressed here.
The house call is on us
Once the scope is set at the showroom, a designer comes out for a free in-home consultation and measure — exact, guaranteed, and with your chosen samples along to check in your own light.
Michigan’s largest Hunter Douglas showroom
Every Duette®, Silhouette® and PowerView® system, full-size and working, in one 12,000 sq ft design center.
The Best Price Promise
Find the identical product for less and we’ll match it — then back the installation for life. Five warranties in all, in writing.
How it works
Three steps, no surprises
Most projects go from first conversation to finished install in a few weeks — and you’ll talk to the same designer the whole way.
Start at the showroom
Walk the Ann Arbor or Plymouth showroom and put your hands on the real thing — full-size displays, fabric books, a designer to guide you. The first conversation is about how you live, not what we sell.
Design and an honest number
Once the scope is set, your designer comes out for the in-home consultation and measure, then sketches options and prices them under the Best Price Promise. No commission means the recommendation is the one that’s right for the room.
Made, then installed for life
Draperies are sewn in our own workroom; blinds, floors and furniture come from brands we’ve trusted for decades. Our installers finish clean — and the installation carries a lifetime warranty.
In their words
The reviews read like thank-you notes
“The valances Esquire made for our living room are better than anything we saw in three trips to the big-box stores — and the installer treated our house like his own. You can tell the workroom is theirs.”
“Our designer talked us out of the more expensive option because it was wrong for the room. Nobody works on commission there, and you feel it the whole way through.”
“They brought the showroom to our kitchen table — samples, measurements, the whole thing. Three weeks later the shades were in and the house finally feels finished.”
“Blinds, a sofa, and new carpet for the stairs — one store, one delivery, zero runaround. We’ve sent both sets of parents here since.”
