Custom Closets
A place for everything you actually own
Walk-in closets, reach-ins, and built-in wardrobes — designed around what you actually own, then measured and installed by our own team.

Good closet organization is quiet infrastructure: mornings run smoother, the bedroom stays tidier, and everything you reach for is where you left it. We’ve helped southeast Michigan families keep their homes in order since 1952, and custom closets are a growing part of that work — designed, measured, and installed by our own people.
It starts with a free design consultation at the showroom — bring photos and rough dimensions, and we’ll walk through finishes, layouts, and what’s possible with no sales pressure. Then a designer comes out for the in-home consultation and measure before anything is drawn to final. Our designers never work on commission, so the plan you get is the plan you need. We look at what you own and how you use it, then draw a design that fits both, with finishes and hardware coordinated to the rest of your home.

Walk-ins, reach-ins, and built-in wardrobes
A walk-in closet gets the glamour, but a well-planned reach-in works just as hard. We design both, along with wardrobes and built-ins for rooms that never had a closet to begin with — a common situation in older Ann Arbor and Plymouth houses framed long before anyone owned forty hangers’ worth of clothes.
Double-hang rods, deep drawers, adjustable shelving, shoe storage, valet rods, built-in hampers: every element earns its spot because you’ll use it, not because it fills a wall.

Designed around your wardrobe, not a template
The first thing our designers want to see isn’t your closet. It’s your clothes. Long coats and short jackets need different hanging heights, folded sweaters need deeper shelves than dress shirts, and the boots that carry you through a Michigan winter need somewhere to live from November to April. We take stock of all of it, then plan the storage to match, down to the inch.
Finishes matter too. We coordinate door styles, drawer pulls, and wood tones with the rest of your home, so the new closet reads as part of the house rather than a kit that arrived in boxes.

Measured and installed by Esquire
We do our own measuring and our own installation. No handoff to a third party, no surprises on install day. It’s the same standard we’ve kept since 1952, backed by our Best Price Promise and a lifetime installation warranty.
The Esquire way
Closets, designed and installed
Non-Commission designers
Our designers are paid to solve your storage problem, not to sell you a bigger closet than you need.
Measured in your actual closet
Once the scope is set at the showroom, a designer consults and measures in the space itself — so the plan is drawn to the inch.
Measured and installed by us
We do our own measuring and our own installing, and every installation is covered by a lifetime warranty.
Finishes matched to your home
Door styles, wood tones, and hardware coordinated with the rest of the house, so nothing looks bolted on.
Best Price Promise
Custom shouldn’t mean a mystery markup — we stand behind our pricing on every closet we design.
Planned around your wardrobe
Hanging heights, shelf depths, and drawer counts based on the clothes you own, not an average.
FAQ
Questions, answered
It depends on the size of the space, the materials, and how much of the interior is drawers versus shelving — a reach-in refit costs far less than a full walk-in build-out. We measure first and price the whole project up front, and our Best Price Promise applies. The free consultation is the fastest way to get a real number for your space.
